Pre-school Christmas Program

Paige was sick this week on Wednesday and Thursday, so Friday morning we went to Challenger and she got to do her program with the class. It was so cute, they sang a lot of songs and did some dancing. She was a little nervous and picked at her fingers during most of it. She had her friend's Roman (on her left) and Riva (on her right) by her. I could tell they had practiced their program a lot (beside the fact that she had been singing these songs at home for a month!). I was glad she was able to do the program this year.

After the singing, Santa showed up and each child was able to talk with him. Then one of the girl's, Mercedes, played her violin for the class. Then the kid's sang their morning song "Wake up, Warm up". I was glad Paige was able to participate dispite a little cold.

Putting up the tree!

We put up the tree today and tried it in a new spot - in the family room (usually we put it in the office), but this year we decided to try it here. Paige helped put ornaments up and then put the star on (she really likes to do this part!) top, it turned out great! The tree is up and decorated! The lights work and Paige is a happy girl!

Drawing and a Visit to Santa

Paige drew this picture of 'frosty' for Justin, as we were getting a box ready to send him (he is in the Air force and stationed in England). She colored this snowman, wrote her name, the year and the snowman's name. On the back she drew a picture of koala's - a dad, a mom, and a baby.

We went to see Santa today...Paige has been looking forward to this and picked out her own fancy dress to wear. At the mall she marched right in and talked to him, then sat on his lap (although I could see her picking at her fingers, so I know she was a bit nervous), and told him what she wants...a real live kitty cat, named Gus.

Countdown to Christmas!

Paige made this countdown to Christmas chain at school, and each day we will take one link off until Christmas day arrives. Paige was so proud of her Christmas chain and each day we take one link off. We also have a calendar that she puts a sticker on every day...so each day we are counting down two things! She is very excited for Christmas this year and eager to get the house decorated - inside and out, but we have too much snow outside right now!

Santa....

Paige and I went to see Santa this morning. She picked out her own fancy dress and was set to go....she was ready to talk to him and see him...no hesitation in her step, not even when we got there, she just marched in and told him what she wanted...a cat (a real live one) named Gus (we used to have a cat named Gus, but he died when she was about 4 months old).....

I explained to her later how much work a cat is:
Me: A cat has to be fed, played with, petted, and have it's pee/poop box cleaned, it's a lot of work to take care of real animals.

Paige: Oh I know, I will play with it and take care of it, and feed it. You will have to pick up the poop, because that is messy. Just use a glove and it won't get all over you.

Yup...she's got it all figured out...except that Kurt was the main 'box' cleaner, not me! :)

So thankful.....

It's Thanksgiving and a few things I am thankful for are: a healthy family, a warm home, enough food to eat, and every day I get to see Paige growing up! Sometimes I go through a day or week or month then all the sudden I get a dose of how amazing it is to watch and witness someone learn and grow! I am so thankful for this and to be her mom!

Paige did this dot-to-dot, which I think was a bird, but since it was near thanksgiving time and she had been drawing a lot of turkeys, she insisted this was a turkey. She showed me her colors and how good she had done and I went back to working on my computer, which she colored more. She kept repeating 'Tom Turkey' (our name for basically all turkeys!) and I was like yes that is a great turkey. Latere after she was in bed and I was cleaning up, I found this....great drawing of Tom Turkey! And I realized that Paige had been repeating 'Tom Turkey' becuase she was sounding it out and spelling it! It made me smile and get teary eyed! Wow!

Snow much fun!!!

We built a big snowgirl! We used broccoli for the ears, carrot for the nose, two rocks for the eyes, a pink string for her mouth, and put on a hat and scarf! Paige loved it...and gave her a hug! Then we went for sled rides, on the slide, and played in the snow!

Disneyland Fun

Here are some pictures from our Disneyland trip....and yes we did see a LOT of princesses. I have more pictures, but I'll have to post them later! :)

Art in the Park 2010

Paige loved going to Art in the Park this year (two times, because Friday they did not have the kid's art tent open). She was so excited to paint and draw. She took her time carefully picking her colors (starting with purple and pink!) and creating a masterpiece.

Pre-School Progress...

July 27th when I dropped Paige off at school, the teacher told me that Paige had a big day...she was going to get her alphabet crown (where they test for alphabet sound and letter recognition). When I picked her up after school, she was so excited to have her alphabet crown! She picked out the color and decorated it. A few days later I got her progress report. I am so proud of how well she is doing in school...she loves it everyday!

A talk with Tinkerbell

While at Disneyland, we visited Pixie Hollow and Paige was having a conversation with Tinkerbell....I think it started because she asked how the fairies get around...it ended with Paige suggesting they build a bicycle to get around...here is what I caught on video.

summer activities

Then in August we went to Maui for our niece's, Ashley, wedding.....it was GREAT (still working on those pics!) and in September we met some friends in Disneyland (first time for me and Paige)....and it was AWESOME!!! I ask these questions and get this answer: "Paige who is your favorite princess?" Cinderella "What was your favorite ride?" the roller coaster that has frogs that squirt me with water! It was so fun...and still working on these pics to.....

In between all that we did a lot of yard work, nothing too big just some sprucing up and such. We went to the water park a lot. We played on the new swing set. We just enjoyed a 3 1/2 yr old girl!
I'll try to get better about updating again soon...until then enjoy!

swimming lessons

Paige has been in swimming lessons again this summer. It took a while to get used to it again (she did not like her face to be in the water...I know where she gets that from!), but a few weeks in and she got used to it. Now she is really doing great and looks forward to seeing Miss Stephanie on Saturdays! Here is a recent lesson.

...busy summer...

We are still here (in Meridian)! But this summer has been busy for us! A brief recap: 4th of July Paige and I went to Salmon for an almost family reunion (it was almost because Kurt and my brother, Cad, were missing). We had a ton of fun! Paige (me either) had not see Aunt Chelsae and her cousin's, Gage and Sydney, for 3 years! Also my sister was in town with her husband and all 4 kiddo's. We swam in the pool, played outside, and took a lot of walks. It was so nice to see everyone!

Building a new playset and slide!

While Paige and I were in Salmon over 4th of July this summer, Kurt put the swing set together (yes he got some help from Jim & Tony)...but it turned out awesome! And Paige LOVES to swing every day!

Happy and proud parent moment...

Paige started going to pre-school 2 days a week, this was her third week (I'll post pics soon!) and she really likes it! When I dropped her off for school yesterday morning, her teacher (Miss Sara) told me that she wished she had 15 more Paige's in her class....made me so happy! She also said that Paige has transitioned to school and the daily activities/program very well. She said Paige is such a joy and that I am very lucky (which I already knew I was lucky to have sweet Paige in my life!). I was glad to hear this, so was Kurt, as he was way more nervous about her going to pre-school than I was...cute! Paige will continue in pre-school for 2 days a week through the summer, we are glad she likes it and is thriving there.

Vegas baby.....to see a baby that is!

The middle of May Paige and I went to Las Vegas to visit my new little niece (Brinley) and the rest of her family... my sister and husband, Marcella and Cahl, my nephews, Tristan, Jasen, and Hunter. We arrived Thursday evening and stayed through the weekend. We got to spend a lot of time with the family, just hanging out and playing (it was a bit cool, so we did not get much pool time in...bummer). Paige and the three boys jumped on the trampoline blew bubbles, played tag, and played hide-and-seek. We go t to go to Tristan's football game...Paige LOVED being a cheerleader, but I'm not so sure she knows what all the hollering was about...but she sure joined in and clapped! We both had a wonderful time and were very glad so see the 'new girl' in the family...Paige calls her 'baby Brin' :)

Paige and Hunter admiring baby Brinley!
