Getting ready for Santa!

Sorry...this one got out of order!

After we got home from Uncle Lance and Aunt Brenda's house...we went to the letter we got from Santa (this letter came the middle of Dec and Paige was really excited to receive a letter from Santa!) and re-read it...so see what we were supposed to do Christmas Eve...

We have to put these reindeer sprinkles out, so the reindeer will know where to land...we headed out side to put the sprinkles down.
Then back into the house to get the plate of cookies (Paige decided 4 was prefect number) and carrots for the reindeer (Paige said 2 was enough) and a glass of milk....we are all ready for Santa to come! Paige wanted to stay up and see and talk to him...but the I told her we all had to get to bed and go to sleep before he comes!

Happy Holidays to all!

Playing the organ

Christmas day we went over to Grandma Porter's house for dinner and Paige asked to play the organ and sing Christmas songs...they had fun!

Christmas morning

First thing Christmas morning Paige wanted to know where Santa was at...had he come? So we raced downstairs to see...and to her dismay the plate of cookies was GONE...just crumbs remained..and the carrots were gone...the glass of milk was empty...in deed Santa had come! So we went in to see if he left anything for us....

Paige's stocking was full....and there was a stuffed animal kitty (this is what she had asked Santa for)...

and a big bag of M&M's....this girl loves chocolate!

Under the tree there were some more presents...

We took all the presents into the family room to open them...

Yeah...I can make Jewelry (thanks Aunt Marcella!)...and I love to sing in my new microphone!

Puzzles....I love to do puzzles!

And a barbie with some puppy dogs to take care of!

Christmas Eve with family

Our family celebration was on Christmas Eve at Lance and Brenda's (Kurt's brother and his wife) house. The whole family was there...niece's and nephews, Grandma Porter, Brenda's brother, Brenda's dad and step-mother. Lance of course cooked up a great meal. There were lots of gifts and it was a great time to spend together as a family. Especially since Justin (our nephew) is leaving on the 28th for the Airforce. We are so proud of him and will miss him a lot!

Now Paige's turn to try out the BSU snuggie!

Paige got a new barbie and my little pony!

Grandma Porter sings!

Grandma Porter sings in the Choir at church and they had been practicing for the holiday performance. We went to watch the performance and Paige was so happy to see her Grandma up there singing! Paige did not recognize the songs they sang and kept asking us 'are they going to sing jingle bells?' it was so cute!

Grandma Porter (Kurt's mom) is the first one standing on the left, with the multi-colored holiday sweater on.

Snow!

It snowed a bunch one weekend and that meant we needed to shovel he driveway. Paige got all bundled up and headed out to help Kurt. She likes to 'shovel' the snow with a little broom we have. She loved running around in the snow and helping.

Then she decided to see how her little four-wheeler (she calls it a motorcycle) did in the snow..it did pretty good, as long as the snow was not too deep, because she is about at the weight capacity and the tires on this are pretty bald.

Putting up the tree

We brought the tree in and got it set up, so after Paige's nap we could decorate it. She was so excited to have the tree up and all she kept talking about was putting the star on top, so once we were done putting ornaments on, Kurt lifted her up to put the star on the top. She was so happy after that clapping and jumping up and down...it was fun to see her so excited.

Putting the star up!

'Yeah the star is up and the tree is all decorated!'

We turned on the lights and Paige and Kurt admired our work!

Music class and a play date!

We went to music class and Paige's friend, Bridgette, was there. The girl's had fun during the class and sang and made music. Later that week Bridgette came over for a play date. They had all the toys out and played with the doll house, but the dress up box was the big hit!

Bridgette and Paige.

Bridgette at our house..the girl's played dress up and were princesses!

I kept saying 'bibbity bobbity boo' with a wand and it was cracking them up!

Gingerbread Houses

One Sunday we went over to the Alonso's to make gingerbread houses! Jace and Shelly came too and the kids had a fun time, well mostly...but it took the mom's a while to get the houses ready to be decorated. At least this year was a bit easier for me, as last year was the first year I had ever done a gingerbread house...so my learning curve is getting better!

Festival of Trees

This year Paige and I went to the Festival of Trees with Terri and Shane. Kurt stayed home to start getting some of the Christmas lights up (and to watch some football!). Paige enjoyed seeing all the beautifully decorated trees, Santa Claus, and making some ornaments.
